DIY cropped/half-chiffon tshirt, H&M bandage skirt, Pedder Red suede booties and Zara fringe bag

It’s really kinda hard to tell from this photo but this is my DIY tshirt. I was experimenting around with some chiffon and I ended up cutting out the whole back section and sewing in the chiffon. It’s kinda hard to tell but the edges where the chiffon and tshirt meet are kinda really badly done but I think the unfinished/haphazard quality looks kinda cool to me…uh yah nvm.

Anyways I wore this outfit on Friday night for my FIRST night out clubbing since I’ve been back. Yep, I’ve been such a good unemployed little girl and have been staying home as much as possible in order to conserve my measly little baby piggie bank, but since this was Mo’s first Friday here, and cos a bunch of my friends were leaving back to overseas, we decided to all head out. We started the night out at my friend’s place where we had GIRLS vs. BOYS beer pong, and YES of course, the girls won :D twice.

On another note: I went for a job interview today for a graphic designer position at this really well-known department store (famous from London, not saying..just figure it out) and I don’t think I’ll be getting the job cos the lady (who was Visual Merchandising Director) kinda stressed that they were looking for someone with at least 2 years experience and who can speak Cantonese (to liase with contractors, printers, warehouse ppl etc.) and seeing that my experience is only from internships and my Cantonese is basically shite, I don’t think I’ll be getting the job. I haven’t cried about it yet but I probably will in about 2 weeks when I get the call/email saying “SORRY YOU SUCK”. Seriously, this is literally my dream job: working with the VM team to design displays, brand booklets, store signage/branding, the restaurant’s daily/weekly/special menus, advertisements, in-store visuals and other awesome stuff. UGH im so sad now ): but I guess I haven’t totally been denied yet so hopefully they’ll somehow realise I am way more awesome than Cantonese and offer me the job anyways. PRAY FOR ME!

Soooooo I dyed my hair black. My mom was fussing around at my old colour saying “I’m not sure if anyone will hire you with that hair colour.” -__- yep my mom lives in the 1700s. Anyway I was getting sick of my roots showing and at my current jobless state, I have insufficient funds to maintain the do. My hair is also ridiculously long and now ridiculously black that my head gets SOO hot here so I usually just end up bundling it all up into a bun.

It was raining the other day, hence the big boots and the tights…but I was still sweating my brains out as I mosied my way to IFC Mall to meet nanz and euge for tea and some Zara shopping (btw some ppl asked, yah Nanz is my sister..and no, her real name isn’t Nanz, lulz).

Palace IFC, our favourite tea place. They feature teas from Mariage Frères, which is from France.

Our super favourite tea is the Marco Polo (black tea flavored with Chinese and Tibetan fruits and flowers). We love it so much we bought a full bag of the Marco Polo from a silly French lady, complete with Ping Pongs sticker.

This is an amazing jacket I found at Zara. They’re up to their typical behaviour with “borrowing” designs from designer labels but hellz, if I can do the Balmain do at the Zara price then I’m all for it :D Unfortunately, I didn’t end up leaving wtih this since, upon opening my wallet, a trickle of mosquitos buzzed out. Instead I left with a regular boyfriend blazer (on sale)..something that I have been wanting for a while now.

WRIST FINGERS NECK EYES & MOUTH

I’m not sure if many of you follow me on twitter (uhh, “chanel_world” are you trying to sell me fake Chanel stuff???), but if you are, you should very well know by now that I am completely bored out of my mind lately. Being jobless and penny-less sucks. I’ve resorted to staying at home pretty much everyday now and lounging around in my yammies. I know it’s disgusting, and I try not to let it happen, but I ended up waking up at 2pm today..even though I slept at 2am last night -______-

So anyway due to my complete boredom, I decided to take pics of my jewelry collection! These are basically all the accessories that I wear most of the time, but of course me, nanz and my mom pretty much share everything so this is not even including nanniez’s and my mom’s stuff, which would srsly be like hundreds of photos since my mom loves to collect stuff and hates wasting or throwing things away so she has some jewelry from like her younger years.

The mess on top of our dresser. The necklace branch that I bought for nanz was overloaded and it toppled onto the floor and all these branches broke off. So since then we’ve just thrown everything into a pile and it just piles up and gets harder and harder to sort through..or more like I get less and less bothered to deal with it.

This is probably the necklace I wore the most often cos it’s the most meaningful. Firstly, the round ring is a ring that me and my bestfriend Julie got together. Secondly, the squarish ring is, believe it or not, my mom’s wedding ring. Everyday I wear it, I unconsciously twirl with it and play with the rings and if I were to ever lose it (touch wood) I would probably be killed and would cry for the rest of my life.

EYES

Well glasses was something else that I really wanted to start collecting. About a year and a half ago I went to the eye doctor because my eyes were constantly blurry for some reason and it turns out, the contacts that I had been wearing were the wrong curvature and basically acted as a suction on my eyeball. SO BASICALLY, the eye doctor told me to stop wearing contacts FOREVER and that wearing glasses was really my only option for now. Not gonna lie, I cried at that point. I love sunglasses soooooooo much and I can’t wear them without wearing contacts so it just totally broke my heart. Now that it’s been so long, my doctor said my eyes have totally healed but suggests that I don’t start wearing contacts again, but he said it would be okay every now and then for just the day. But until I can afford Lasik, I’ll be just hording these to myself and saving them for that glorious day. What’s actually quite funny is that basically these 5 favourite sunglasses of mine were all purchased within the last year haha and I’ve probably only worn all of them probably only like 2/3 times each.

Rayban Aviators. These are actually the only sunglasses I get to wear cos my mom changed the lens and added prescription so that I could wear them. It’s pretty expensive to get prescription sunglasses and I can’t even begin to tell you how stupid I feel switching from regular glasses to sunglasses constantly or even HOW annoying it can get -.-

Lastly, I just wanted to introduce you to one of the best fruits ever. Mangosteen. They’re one of those exotic South East Asian fruits, like rambutan and durian. I think they’re pretty hard to acquire in America but if you CAN find it, I suggest you try them!! They’re sooo good and soooo sweet. Oh also, if you live in New York, there’s a juice/smoothie place on the Upper West Side (around the 100s) on Broadway that sells Mangosteen Smoothies and you haaaaaaafto get it cos it’s soooooo good.

You crack them open and they’re like garlic-clove looking things inside. Some of the bigger ones have seeds but most of them don’t.

Last week from Weds to Friday I spent every minute of the day at home, except for a quick run to the supermarket across the street, to walk the dogs once and lastly for a quick pop by my mom’s friends place. The time I spent outdoors in those three days probably amounted to only about 2 hours. So I spent like 70 hours at home..about 95% of that time sitting in my pjamas either playing Sims, browsing the internet, cooking, playing with the dogs or moping about being a zombie. Yep, being jobless pretty much = USELESS.

On Saturday I decided it was time to finally get a whiff of the city air so I went out to meet nanz at Elements (Kowloon side). I was actually almost about to bail out cos lounging around in my yammies was just tooooo comfy but even Helie was trying to kick me out of the house so I FINALLY peeled my yammies off and headed out. I’m actually wearing my mom’s Chanel blazer..which is from like the 90s or something but it’s still really comfy and fits me pretty good. The Fendi bag is also my mom’s…I was a little reluctant at first, but I was in a hurry and couldn’t be bothered to switch my bag. The shape and size is perfect for my headphones and camera and it fits so comfortably on my shoulder. If it were all black it would be a great hobo bag.

We spotted this awesome jacket that could easily fit both of us (plus 10 pts!!) but it was way too expensive for an H&M jacket ($699hk, about $90us).

Just now our doggies we’re being SUPER posey and being all “deh” (Chinese word for cute-ish) so nanz went all camera-whore on them, which also ended up being some really good gifs!!!!

Ladylike is a new project that jess, betsey and I are all a part of. On one last note, my outfits lately are soooo lame and boring and stupid and I think I really need a whole new wardrobe JUST so I can adjust to Hong Kong’s SWELTERING heat. Seriously, the other day it was REAL FEEL 44 degrees celcius (111 degrees fahrenheit) and that’s not even taking into account the HUMIDITY. I mean I don’t mind it so much, it makes me nice and moisturized..but seriously the heat is not cool. I’m not exactly one to wear tank tops or sleeveless tops so it gets really difficult for me to dress appropriate to the weather -.- Well anyways this is just me complaining about my useless wardrobe and the stupid heat leading to lame and stupid updates -_____________-
